We bonded on our very first date over music and the creative projects we both had swirling around in our heads, and Somewhere Guys is the natural result of that conversation.. We launched it in the summer of 2025 to combine what we both do and make honest, thoughtful stories about places that leave a mark.

Josh is a professional photographer with nearly a decade of experience. His camera is basically an extra limb at this point - he reaches for it instinctively wherever we are. He's passionate about light in a way that goes well beyond professional interest (the kind of person you'll find nerding out on YouTube videos because he genuinely finds it fascinating). For him, photography is both instinct and documentation, a way of holding onto the places he's been.

Brooke is a content creator and marketing specialist with a photography background. Her background in yoga, meditation, and self-discovery certainly shape the way she notices things. She's a big feeler and a deep thinker, and video and writing are how she moves through what she's experiencing. She tends to catch the details that are easy to walk past, and the field notes on this site are her way of recording them before any distance sets in.

Together, we notice the smaller things by sitting and talking through everything around us- the layout of a space, the way light comes through a window, the person behind the counter who's clearly been doing this for a long time and loves it. We're not chasing trends, trending audio, or trying to recreate something we've already seen. We're much more interested in the pizza shop owner who's been doing the same thing for 40 years than the most photogenic dish on the menu.
